Marygwen Arnold Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. Arnold has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the fields of languages, biology and education

TYLER, TX, September 04, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Marygwen Arnold with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Arnold celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Arnold spent her earlier years in nursing, only to switch gears to education. Drawn to teaching, she taught biology, life and earth science, chemistry, Spanish and English at the high school level and Spanish to middle schoolers for several years before beginning her career in higher education. Becoming an instructor of developmental writing, reading and English as a second language at Tyler Junior College in 1989, Ms. Arnold taught in that capacity for 15 years. She then began teaching English exclusively on campus in 2004.

Entering the health care field as a nurse, Ms. Arnold wanted to honor her grandmother who fell ill of cancer when she was in high school. Passing away one year later, she knew that nursing was a very noble profession that was dedicated to helping others. Becoming a medical and surgical nurse, Ms. Arnold still maintains her license although she no longer practices. Once she began teaching at the college level, she even developed a program at Tyler Junior College involving medical English classes during her tenure. Equally interested in languages, she would have added French and German to her teachings if she had room in her program. She is currently learning Hebrew, not to teach the language but simply because she would like to be able to read the Old Testament in Hebrew.

Ms. Arnold is a longtime member of The Texas Faculty Association, Sigma Delta Pi and Alpha Chi. She has been showcased in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women. Earning an Associate of Science in nursing at Tyler Junior College in 1974 and a diploma at Texas Eastern School of Nursing in 1975, she also completed a Bachelor of Science in education in 1978, Master of Education in reading in 1986, and Master of Arts in English in 1989, all at the University of Texas at Tyler.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Marygwen Arnold has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
