WESTBOROUGH, MA, September 04, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Pamela Staffier, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Staffier celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Staffier worked as consultant for Agents of Change Counseling from 2009 to 2017. Immediately before this, she was the director of her own practice, the Staffier Clinic, from 1978 to 2008 and the clinical director of the Moriarty Mental Health Clinic from 1975 to 1978. Prior to her administrative roles, she had several positions as a psychologist at a number of institutions across the state of Massachusetts that included Westborough State Hospital, Grafton State Hospital, Cushing General Hospital and the Wrentham Developmental Center. She is known for her research in state hospital closings and in the biochemical basis of schizophrenia, with her area of expertise being in diagnosing and developing treatment plans and matching each person with the best therapist.

Dr. Staffier's father worked for Liberty Mutual in Boston, but studied in psychology. He would share with her what he was learning in school, and apply it to her everyday life. By the time she was ready for college, she was very interested in psychology. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, in 1964. She then attended Assumption College in Worcester, MA, where she received a Master of Arts in psychology in 1970 and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in 1977. She went on to attend Union University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in her last year there, she changed to a double major and added philosophy. She feels this helped her understand psychology better, and she obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in 1978.

In addition to her professional roles, Dr. Staffier has been a member of a number of associations related to the field of psychology over the span of her career that include the American Psychological Association, the National Register of Health Service Providers and the Massachusetts Psychological Association. She is listed in the third edition of Who's Who Among Human Services Professionals, the first edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, and several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
