Dr. Peter Angelo holds a Full Professorship at C.W. Post College/Long Island University.
MANORVILLE, NY, September 04, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Peter Angelo, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Peter Angelo celebrates 50 years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process. Prior to his retirement from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr. Angelo served for 12 years as the Director of Adapted Aquatics and Emergency Response in Stony Brooks School of Health Technology and Management, at the Health Care Center.
With decades of practiced industry experience to his credit, Dr. Angelo holds a Full Professorship at C.W. Post College/Long Island University. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Aquatics and Coordinator of Recreational Swimming Programs for the Catholic Child Care Society. He was part of a team that developed a university program called Adapted Aquatics, which uses water as a therapy medium for infants, teens and adults with severe physical and/or mental impairment. During this time, the Munich Olympics were fast approaching and he was an Olympic-level swimmer. However, school exams and the development of his Aquatics Program kept him stationed at home. Since the Munich Olympics was then the site of a terrorist attack, Dr. Angelo considers his circumstances to be an example of divine intervention.
More recently, Dr. Angelo has held directorship roles with the New York Association for Brain Injured Children and the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he has worked as Associate Professor for 50 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Biology, a Master of Arts in English, and a Doctor of Philosophy in English, which back his extensive professional resume. Utilizing his extensive background, he has authored "Fall to Glory: Theological Reflection on Milton's Epics," "Adapted Aquatics Teacher Training DVD" and a series of Laboratory Manuals for each course in his program, and the Academic Minor in Adapted Aquatics. For his excellence in the field, he has been honored with the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching from New York State University, and the NYS Chancellor'd Award for Teaching Excellence. Looking ahead, Dr. Angelo intends to experience the continued success of his career in English at Long Island University.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Peter Angelo, Ph.D., has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
