Skidmore College gave Irving Harris a Denis B. Kemball-Cook Award, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio gave him an Outstanding Service Award.

With more than 50 years of professional experience, Mr. Harris was a partner with Harris, Harris, Field, Schacter & Bardach Ltd. from 1989 to 2000. Prior to obtaining this role, he was a partner with Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur from 1982 to 1989, and a partner with Hartsock, Harris & Schneider from 1981 to 1982. Earlier in his career, Mr. Harris was a partner with Cors, Hair & Hartsock from 1954 to 1981, where he came under the tutelage of his mentor, Robert Hair.

Mr. Harris began his career with the United States Navy in 1945, and Chief Petty Officer Schneider influenced him to pursue a career in law for his argumentative skills. He pursued an education with the University of Cincinnati, where he earned an undergraduate degree in 1948 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1951. Mr. Harris has been admitted to practice in the state of Ohio, as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

A respected voice in his areas of expertise, Mr. Harris has been affiliated with numerous organizations in his community. He was a mediator for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, an arbitrator for the Court of Common Pleas of Hamilton County, and special counsel for the Ohio Attorney General's Office for the Police and Firemen's Disability and Pension Fund. A former member of the board of overseers of the University of Cincinnati College of Law, Mr. Harris also served as a sponsor of the Distinguished Visitor Series of Lectures for the college.

Mr. Harris is a trustee emeritus of Skidmore College, and he has served as a trustee of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He served as a member and vice chair of the Ohio Development Financing Commission, and he was a member of the Ohio Trade missions to the Orient, England and Germany. The former special counsel to the attorney general of Ohio, Mr. Harris is a lifetime member of the Sixth Judicial Conference and a lecturer for Advising, Operation, and Rebuilding the Financially Distressed Company.

Throughout his career, Mr. Harris has been recognized for his contributions, having received the Parnassus Society Award. Skidmore College gave him a Denis B. Kemball-Cook Award, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio gave him an Outstanding Service Award. He has been recognized in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who in the World. In his free time, Mr. Harris enjoyed tennis, horseback fox hunting, and skiing, but now enjoys only golf.
