Latin American Art Fair will land in San Diego on October 2018

Final preparations for the 2018 Latin American Art Fair (LAAF) are underway!



Latin American Art Fair seeks to be the connection between the artist, the gallery and the collector.

    SAN DIEGO, CA, September 18, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Final preparations for the 2018 Latin American Art Fair (LAAF) are underway!

This event, specializing in Latin American art and artists, will include exciting surprises and will be featured its new home in Barrio Logan, located in the very heart of San Diego, CA.

This announcement marks the countdown to one of the most anticipated events in San Diego. LAAF is a family-friendly event that was brought about by a movement which seeks to bring greater exposure, understanding, and appreciation of Latin American art to Southern California. The fair will be held from October 13th to 14th at its new venue, the "Bread and Salt Cultural Center," curated by Alessandra Moctezuma and Adriana Martinez. Admission to the event is absolutely free. Inside the fair, visitors will discover over 70 art exhibits which include Fine Art, Folk Art, and Design. Marisa Caichiolo from "Building Bridges Art Exchange" will serve as guest judge for determining "Best Art Proposal". All of these treasures come from artists brought from all over Latin America and will delight visitors from all walks of life. A delicious variety of Latin American-inspired cuisine and beverages will be provided by award-winning chefs, local craft breweries, and wines from Baja California.

On its fourth annual event, LAAF boasts works from artists coming from a variety of places including: Cuba, Colombia, Peru, Guatemala, Panama, Mexico, and also locally from San Diego among others. This year's event combines the participation of galleries and well-established artists wherein LAAF makes the transition from an art festival to a fully realized art fair. LAAF proudly features galleries such as La Caja Galeria and Alexander Salazar Fine Art as well as established artists such as Alvaro Blancarte, Marco Ramirez ERRE, and Alejandra Phelps. Opening night will feature a performance by Alejandra Phelps and visitors will have the privilege of watching Maestro Blancarte create a mural throughout the two-day event.

Musical and dance performers from Peru, Guatemala, Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Tijuana will be featured on the fair's stage. MALU project with her electronic and violin music is one of the highlights of the event, as well as the traditional dancers from Peru and Guatemala.

This family oriented event will include a children's creative area where children can unleash their creativity, designing paper flowers and "Dia de Muertos Calaveras (Day of the Dead Skulls)."

LAAF seeks to bring the best of Latin American Culture, share it with visitors, and offer this great opportunity for learning about diversity for the betterment of the community by showcasing Latin American identity through art, music and food. Latin American Art Fair is an independent effort founded by Aida Valencia, Gabriela Avila, and Benito Del Aguila with the support of public and private organizations.
