Interested from a formative age in history, political science and government, Ms. Boda parlays four decades of expertise and knowledge into a relevant career in law. She prepared for her career by earning a Bachelor of Arts from Wilson College in 1974 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vermont Law School in 1978, following these accomplishments with a Master of Laws in taxation from Villanova University in 1989. Drawing upon certification from the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Tax Court, Ms. Boda has been involved with research and consultation for investment, portfolio management and taxation for VCHB Advisory Services since 2008.
Ms. Boda was an avid reader of detective and mystery novels when she was younger, and she approached her time at law school with a "nose to the grindstone" work ethic and a passionate sense of academic focus. She grew interested in tax and estate work while pursuing her education, and upon graduating from law school became a staff attorney for Cape-Atlantic Legal Services. She then developed her own private practice and worked as an instructor for such institutions as the American Institute for Paralegal Studies and Pennsylvania State University before becoming an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company in 1985 and an investment, real estate and tax advisor for her own eponymous company in 1986.
Providing her field with considerable expertise, Ms. Boda has contributed several articles to professional journals and co-authored "Newberg on Class Actions" (2nd ed, rev. ed, 1985). She also served as editor for Women Lawyers Journal from 1993 to 1997 and, passionate about maintaining connections in the legal arena, has served in leadership positions for the National Association of Women Lawyers and the Philadelphia Bar Association. Interested in civic involvement, Ms. Boda has served on the board of directors for the Emergency Aid of Pennsylvania Foundation and was president of the Colonial Philadelphia Historical Society from 1984 to 1989.
