Donald Ucci Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Donald Ucci intends to continue parlaying his knowledge of engineering to up-and-coming students in the field in his role with Miami University.

For 39 years, Dr. Ucci has excelled in education with Stony Brook University, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Miami University. At the start of his career, he worked as an assistant professor in the electrical and computer engineering department. When he transferred universities, he worked as an associate professor and in administration as associate provost and interim dean of the undergraduate college, associate dean, and chair/associate chair of the electrical and computer engineering department. Most recently, Dr. Ucci joined Miami University in Ohio as professor and chair, as well as developer of the programs in electrical engineering and computer engineering that later led to the creation of the Department of the Electrical Engineering.

Prior to starting in the field, Dr. Ucci earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the City College of New York and the Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy from the City University of New York. A contributor to numerous articles in professional journals, he affiliates himself with the IEEE, the New York Academy of Science and the American Society of Engineering Education in order to remain aware of changes in the industry. For his professional accomplishments, he earned a Special Achievement Award in Engineering from the Alumni Association of the City College of New York in 2004. Looking ahead, Dr. Ucci intends to continue parlaying his knowledge of engineering to up-and-coming students in the field in his role with Miami University.
