SANTA FE, NM, September 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Agnes L. Koury with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Koury celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Koury, the owner and manager of various real estate properties across Santa Fe, NM, and Arlington, VA, since 1985, learned much of what she knows today from her father, a former realtor. Working as the assistant manager at her father's firm, Koury's Real Estate, between 1974 and 1980, she also gained knowledge and expertise as a realtor for Routh Robbins in northern Virginia between 1973 and 1978. Prior to entering real estate, she worked in government and law for various organizations, beginning as a committee secretary for the New Mexico House of Representatives in 1959.

Maintaining and renting spaces within her building, Ms. Koury says that instead of conducting routine background checks on potential renters, she uses her intuition as a guide. In fact, she has been known to rent to those who don't have enough money to get started because she sees the potential in the business and will offer short-term leases as a way to give them a fighting chance.

Throughout her career, Ms. Koury has been active with numerous local organizations. She has been a member of the guidelines committee of the Docent Program at the Institute of American Indian Arts Museum of Contemporary Native Arts since 2017, a volunteer with the Smithsonian Institute since 2012, and committee member of Danny Thomas St. Jude since 1973. Ms. Koury formerly served on the board of directors of the Arlington Symphony Orchestra prior to serving on the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, the Mount Vernon Orchestra and the Birches Homeowners' Association. She also served as chairman of the Tree of Lights Event with the Hospice of Northern Virginia, chairman of the Volunteer Speakers Bureau for the Hospice of Northern Virginia for 10 years, and chairman of the elite music scholarship competition for the Arlington Symphony Women's Committee for 10 years, among multiple other roles. She is a longtime member of the directors' circle of the Native Museum of American Indians.

Ms. Koury earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Denver in 1958, during which time she was named an Outstanding Member of Phi Gamma Nu, and Master of Arts from Marymount University. She also earned a protocol certificate from Southeastern University and a paralegal certificate from Georgetown University and is certified to teach in the state of New Mexico. She has been showcased in more than 30 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in the World.

Born in Denver, Ms. Koury is the proud mother of one adopted daughter, Tia Lesley Koury. When she isn't busy working or volunteering her time, she loves to travel, enjoys poetry and art and often does crossword and picture puzzles to keep her mind sharp.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Agnes L. Koury has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
