Paul Wilburn Spear was presented with the Outstanding Citizens Award from the Senate State of Missouri in 2018 and the Quilt of Valor as a Veteran of World War II in 2018.

Currently holding three active leadership roles, Mr. Spear has been on the board of directors of the Southtown Council in Kansas City, MO, from 1982 to 1991 and on the Board of Directors of the Faith Village in Lenexa, KS, from 1961 to 1987. From 1968 to 1991, he was also the Director of Personnel at the Church of Nazarene. From 1954 to 1968, he served as employment manager at A.O. Smith Corporation in Kankakee, IL. Mr. Spear's first professional position was as a bookbinder for R. R. Donnelley & Sons in Crawfordsville, IN, from 1944 to 1950.

The highlights of Mr. Spear's career were all of the contributions he made by achieving benefits for employees at Southeast Enterprise, where he was on the board of directors and served as president. Additionally, Mr. Spear is a former board member of the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army. He also holds membership with the American Society of Personnel Administration and the American Management Association, and is a fellow of the National Association of Church Business Administration. He decided to pursue this career path because he has a passion for people and assisting those with disabilities, including his daughter.

Before pursuing an education, Mr. Spear served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He ultimately earned a Bachelor of Arts from Olivet Nazarene University in 1954. In 1980, he wrote "The Church Building Source Book." In 2018, he was presented with a Resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives. His accomplishments have been acknowledged over the years in the form of several honors and accolades. Mr. Spear was presented with the Outstanding Citizens Award from the Senate State of Missouri in 2018, the Quilt of Valor as a Veteran of World War II in 2018, and the Award for Building Faith Village. Notably, he was the recipient of the key to South Kansas City by the Southtown Council.
