Einar Wulfsberg Anderson, MD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Dr. Anderson enjoyed many years juggling two very different careers. Hired as a senior assistant surgeon with the U.S. Public Health Service in Chapel Hill, SC, between 1972 and 1974, and later as an assistant professor of medicine at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi between 1977 and 1982, he also led a very fulling career in the arts. A solo hornist with the Philharmonic Orchestra beginning in 1975 and the Corpus Christi Symphony beginning in 1977, Dr. Anderson later served as a music director for the South Carolina Philharmonic in Columbia, S.C. from 1982 to 1992 and as an artistic director for the Lutheran Bach Choir and Orchestra of South Carolina in Columbia and the Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra until retiring in 2018.

During his career, Dr. Anderson notably translated the book "Das Vibrato." He also served as a music director at the Columbia Bicentennial Festival in 1986, which was an honor. He has long been affiliated as a member of the Conductors Guild, the Music Educators National Conference and several fraternities.

Honored by being included in the 53rd edition of Who's Who in America, Dr. Anderson has also been included in several editions of Who's Who in Entertainment. He notably has held a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University since 1963, Doctor of Medicine from the prestigious Harvard University since 1968, and Master of Music from the University of Southern California since 1974.

Born in Berwyn, IL, Dr. Anderson later married his wife Susan Ellenbast in 1985 and had two children. Since retiring, Dr. Anderson has been enjoying his free time fishing and working on his model railroading. He also enjoys studying foreign languages.
