She prepared for her professional goals through various academic accomplishments including earning a a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Niagara University in 1972 and a Master of Business Administration from Sacred Heart University in 1989. She starting out working for Liberty Mutual in 1994, and then moved on to serve as a nurse case manager for CNA Insurance from 1996 to 2000, and as a medical consultant and trainer for Encompass Insurance from 2000 to 2005. Her career then took her to Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts, where she remained until 2012.
As she developed her impressive professional skill set, Ms. Dunne was certified as a Professional Medical Coder (CPC) by the American Association of Professional Coders in 2008. She is also certified as a legal nurse consultant by the American Legal Nurse Certification Board and as a case manager by the Commission for Case Manager Certification. Her occupational development has led to work with utilization review appeals, medical coding and appeals and claims. A medical review expert, Ms. Dunne's consulting involvement has also led to extensive work with Medicare Advantage and other notable departments.
Along with her advancements in medical consulting, Ms. Dunne has worked as a trainer for Encompass Insurance. She is certified by the IRS and had a personal tax identification number, as a tax preparer. She worked at H&R block for many years, was a tax professional from 2012 to 2016, and was employed by the Town of Hingham as a fitness consultant from 2012 to 2018.
Her civic involvement demonstrates similar diligence. She has volunteered with the Town of Hingham since 2011 and is an active member of the Elks. She also volunteered with the Boston Rescue Mission, and Kingston House. Due to her accomplishments in consulting, she has a history of involvement with the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. She has been recognized in a variety of publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and Who's Who in the World.
