John Paul Gallagher Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Gallagher has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the health care industry

MADISON, WI, October 17, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present John Paul Gallagher with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Gallagher celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

From 2017 to July 2018, Mr. Gallagher worked as a community support representative for the Dungarvin Home Health Agency. Before this appointment, he was a file clerk and scanner at Dane County Child Support from 2009 to 2016. For several months in 2009, he purged and scanned files as well as computer label scanned files for the Dane County Mental Health Clinical Assessment Unit. From 2008 to 2010, he worked on computer design forms, the daily newsletter and bulk mailings for the Yahara House as a part of the Dane County Mental Health Center.

At multiple branches of REM Wisconsin, a subsection of the MENTOR Network, Mr. Gallagher was the nurse assistant, house coordinator, personal care worker and companion from 1999 to 2006. In the three years leading up to this appointment, he was an executive director at Cordial Unlimited Inc. His first professional role was as an administrator and treasurer at Prevail Inc. from 1991 to 1995.

While living in Chicago, IL, Mr. Gallagher attended the Northwestern College, where earned an Associate of Science for business administration in 1982. Following this accomplishment, he continued his studies at the DeVry Institute of Technology, where he received a Bachelor of Computer Science for business information systems in 1985. Afterwards, he moved to Wisconsin, where he attended the Madison Area Technical College in Reedsburg, WI, where he became a nursing assistant in 2004.

Mr. Gallagher became interested in writing as a high school student while reading books for reading assignments. He later began pursuing the work of artists in the form of books and films. With this new infatuation, he decided he would write works for adolescents, enrolling in writing classes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a result.

The state of Wisconsin presented Mr. Gallagher with a grant from 1995 to 1998 to publish four books for mental health consumers, their families, and those who provide mental wellness services. The nonprofit he helmed, Cordial Unlimited Inc., used the grant money to print 900 copies of the "Stress Kit Workbook," and 600 copies of the "Americans with Disabilities Act," "Gaining Access: Financial Benefits for the Disabled," and "Managed Care and You." He co-authored and co-edited the books alongside a friend who also ran the nonprofit alongside him.
Recently, Mr. Gallagher wrote a novel about mental health in adolescence called "The Domain," a writing experience he still considers to be the highlight of his career. Before this experience, he dedicated the time to writing novellas such as "Disability Money Secrets," "Callaventia and Versaroma," "The Perkowitz," "Things I Never Told My Doctor" and "The Art of Learning." An Amazon-listed author, he also authored "My Collection" and "The Presider."

Mr. Gallagher credits a lot of his success to Tracy Boldt, Betty Blaska and Eric Peterson. Alongside Tracy Boldt, he was awarded the three years of government grants that allowed them to produce educational resource material books. For all of his academic accomplishments, he was named on the DeVry President's List and the Northwestern Dean's List. Looking toward the future, he envisions himself continuing his excellence within the field.
