David Snyder has been senior counsel to Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP since January 2018.

Mr. Snyder began his career as an associate at Jenkins & Perry in San Diego, California from 1974 to 1977. He continued his career with Jenkins & Perry as a partner from 1978 to 1983. From 1983 to 1986, he was a partner with Aylward, Kintz & Stiska in San Diego, California. After this opportunity, Mr. Snyder worked as a partner with Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps LLP in San Diego California from 1986 to 1993 where he served on the executive committee and headed the business department.

Mr. Snyder became a member of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in 1993. He served as vice chairman of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP from 2004 to 2005. During his time as a partner with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP from 1993 to 2017, he also served in the positions of chair of the business department, leader of the corporate and securities practice and managing board member. Mr. Snyder has been senior counsel to Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP since January 2018.

In addition to his career, Mr. Snyder served on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Chula Vista in California from 1979 to 1983. He was also an adjunct professor at California Western School of Law in San Diego, California from 1982 to 1984 and a lecturer at the California Continuing Education of the Bar from 1983 to 2005. He was vice president and director of the San Diego Venture Group from 1989 to 1993. He has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Diego School of Law since 2016. Mr. Snyder was also a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Parish Council in Bonita, California from 1988 to 1996, chairing that group for two separate terms.

From 1988 to 2004, he held the role of trustee of the Rady Children's Hospital Foundation in San Diego, and from 1990 to 1992, he also served as chairman. He has been a member of board of directors of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra Association since 2006 and became chair in 2018. Since 2014, he has been on the Michigan State University Honors College Dean's Advisory Board. Additionally, Mr. Snyder was editor of the Cornell Law Review from 1973 to 1974 and co-author of a textbook entitled "Drafting Legal Instruments" in 1982.

Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Snyder received his Bachelor of Arts with high honors from Michigan State University in 1971 where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Excalibur honoraries, among others. Following this achievement, he earned his Doctor of Law with distinction from Cornell Law School at Cornell University in 1974 and was elected to The Order of the Coif. Mr. Snyder is bar certified in California and is also registered as a foreign lawyer with the Solicitors Regulation Authority and registered in Hong Kong as a foreign lawyer with the Law Society of Hong Kong.

Mr. Snyder is a member of the American Bar Association and has been on the federal securities law committee since 1987. He has also held the position of chairman of the ABA subcommittee on annual review of federal securities regulation, and served on the board of directors of the San Diego Corporate Directors Forum from 2001 to 2007. He belongs to the San Diego Bar Association and the State Bar of California as well. He has been active on the board of directors of the American Electronics Association and was a member of the executive committee for the San Diego chapter from 1991 to 1993. Mr. Snyder is also a member of the Order of the Coif and Phi Beta Kappa.

Mr. Snyder has been a Best Lawyers in America honoree for the past 25 years and he has been twice named Corporate Lawyer of the Year in San Diego. He was named as one of San Diego's Top Attorneys in the San Diego Daily Transcript from 2005 to 2007 and he has been recognized by Chambers USA from 2006 to 2016 in the areas of Capital Markets: Debt & Equity and Life Sciences: Corporate in California. He has also been celebrated on the the Venture Capital and Emerging Companies list from 2010 to 2012 and the Middle Market M&A list in 2014 list by The Legal 500 United States. Additionally, he is a Knight Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. Mr. Snyder has previously been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World.
