Heather Kleiner Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. Kleiner has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the education industry

WATKINSVILLE, GA, October 18, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Heather Kleiner with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Kleiner celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Kleiner began her career as a research analyst with Edward Weiss Advertising in Chicago, IL, from 1963 to 1965. Following this appointment, she served as an academic advisor for the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Georgia in Athens from 1982 to 1988. She continued her career with the University of Georgia as assistant director of the women's studies program from 1988 to 1990. From 1990 to 2000, Ms. Kleiner progressed to associate director of the women's studies program at the University of Georgia.

Prior to embarking on her career, Ms. Kleiner received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and anthropology from Smith College in Northampton, MA, in 1961. Following this achievement, she earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching in education from the University of Lynchburg in Virginia in 1969. Ms. Kleiner concluded her education by completing postgraduate coursework at the University of Georgia from 1974 to 1982.

In addition to her career, Ms. Kleiner was co-founder and first president of the Jeannette Rankin Foundation in Athens, GA, from 1976 to 1977, the chair of the capital fund drive from 1993 to 1996 and member of the board of directors and honorary director since 1977. She served as chair of the partner church committee for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens in Georgia from 1992 to 2018 and was a trustee from 2003 to 2006. Ms Kleiner is a member of the League of Women Voters, the American Association of University Women and the Jeannette Rankin Foundation.

Ms. Kleiner became involved in her career when she moved to Georgia. Because there were limited part-time educational opportunities while she was raising her family, she decided to further her education. Later, she would become involved in academic administration. She considers the highlight of her career to be the time she spent in the University of Georgia's Women's studies program working with students. She has also been a staunch activist of women's rights. In 2016, the Institute for Women's Study named a library room after her, and she was the recipient of the Stewardship Award from the Unitarian Universalist Church for her fellowships work with their partner church in Romania. Ms Kleiner has previously been selected for inclusion in the 15th edition of Who's Who in the World, the 26th edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest and multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in American Education.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Ms. Kleiner has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
