Today, Lester Taylor holds the title of professor emeritus at the University of Arizona, where he previously served as a full professor for 30 years.

Dr. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa and a Doctor of Philosophy from Harvard University. More than 50 years ago, he began his career in economics education as an instructor at Harvard University, where he later became an assistant professor of economics. His interest in economics was initially piqued in high school when his superintendent introduced him to leaders in the field. Since then, he has held positions such as staff economist with the Council of Economic Advisers, an adviser at the Harvard Institute of International Development in Bogotá, Colombia, and an associate professor of economics at the University of Michigan. Today, he holds the title of professor emeritus at the University of Arizona, where he previously served as a full professor for 30 years. Throughout his career, Dr. Taylor was mentored by his long-time friend, Professor Hendricks.

Outside of his practical work in the field, Dr. Taylor has contributed his expertise as an author of several industry texts. He also published an artist biography that took him almost 30 years to complete, entitled "The Life and Art of Archie Boyd Teater." As a testament to his expertise in economics, he was also a recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship at Harvard University. In order to remain aware of developments in his field, Dr. Taylor maintains affiliation with the American Economic Association, the Econometric Society and Phi Beta Kappa.
