Tracy Breton Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. Breton has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the journalism industry

Tracy Breton won a Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting.

CRANSTON, RI, October 25, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Tracy Breton with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Breton celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After accruing more than 40 years of practiced experience in journalism and reporting, Ms. Breton retired in 2013 from her role as an investigative and legal affairs reporter for The Providence Journal, where she started as a reporter in 1973. While in college, she gained valuable experience in the field with the News-Times in Danbury, CT. Currently, she parlays her knowledge of the field to others through her role as the Clarence Raymond Adams and Rachel Blodgett Adams visiting professor of English in the Nonfiction Writing Program at Brown University. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to write important stories that have earned her extensive recognition, including a Pulitzer Prize. However, the most rewarding aspects of her career have been when she has had the opportunity to write about ordinary people and their everyday struggles.

Ms. Breton holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and political science from Syracuse University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She has written stories for The New York Times and many other professional publications. She has been a visiting writing coach at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies and for many years was a speaker at the National Writers' Workshop. Although she has left daily journalism, she continues to write. She is currently writing a nonfiction book called "Let Light Shine Out of Darkness," while also giving back through Community Tribune, an investigative reporting nonprofit organization that teams seasoned journalists with college journalism students.

For her outstanding work, Ms. Breton has been recognized with awards for Best Feature Story through United Press International, a Master Reporter Award from the New England Society of Newspaper Editors and a Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting, as well as many other awards. Additionally, she has been honored with inclusion into professional publications such as Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the Media and Communication, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Tracy Breton has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
