In addition, he is credited as a co-author of "Conditionally Convergent Spectral Sequences," "Modular Representations on the Homology of Powers of Real Projective Space" and "Singularities of Differentiable Maps."
Prior to pursuing a career in education, Dr. Boardman served in the Royal Air Force between 1956 and 1958. Following a lifelong interest in numbers, he attended Trinity College at Cambridge University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1961 and PhD in 1965. Dr. Boardman went on to serve as a visiting lecturer with the University of Chicago and assistant lecturer with the University of Warwick. During this time, he completed a two-year fellowship with the Scientific Research Council between 1964 and 1966.
Upon relocating to the United States in 1969, Dr. Boardman accepted a position as an associate professor with Johns Hopkins University. In 1972, he was recognized as a professor, a position he held until his retirement in 2010. Dr. Boardman became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1973. From 1970 to 1988, he was recognized as a grantee of the National Science Foundation.
