A highly esteemed educator with 40 years of professional experience to his credit, Mr. Cecil is currently retired, having most recently served as a math teacher for the Sheboygan Area School District in Wisconsin, a position he held from 1969 to 1999. During this time, he also worked as a track coach for North High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, from 1981 to 1999. Mr. Cecil began his career as an inspector for Honeywell from 1959 to 1965.

Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Cecil earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 1969. He was also certified as a teacher of secondary mathematics by the state of Wisconsin. Mr. Cecil was inspired to follow this career path by his wife, Joan, who saw that he excelled at helping people and tutoring and that he would make a wonderful teacher.

Mr. Cecil is a member and past president of the Sheboygan Evening Lions Club. He was named a Melvin Jones fellow by the Lions Club International in 1992, a Birch-Sturm fellow by the Wisconsin Lions Foundation in 2011 and a Ray Hempel fellow by the Lions Pride Endowment Fund of Wisconsin Inc. in 2017. He was also awarded the Lions Club International President's Certificate of Appreciation in 1999. In addition to these accomplishments, he is a member of Elks Lodge #299 and previously served on the board of directors of the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra. In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Cecil was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, the eighth edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering and the 26th edition of Who's Who in the Midwest.
