Dr. Deppoliti began her career as a staff nurse at the Syracuse VA Medical Center from 1971 to 1973. Following this appointment, she worked as a coordinator of mental health and psychiatric nursing at the Crouse Hospital College of Nursing in Syracuse, New York from 1977 to 1989. From 1987 to 1991, she served as a clinical nurse specialist of psychiatry at the St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, New York. She continued her career with St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center as director of the network resource education and development department from 1991 to 2015. Following this, she spent three years at St. Joseph's College of Nursing. She also worked for Mosby to help prepare nurses for their board exams. Dr. Deppoliti is currently a therapist in the office of Dr. James Donovan in Liverpool, New York.
Prior to embarking on her career, Dr. Deppoliti received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Syracuse University in 1971. Following this accomplishment, she earned her Master of Science from Syracuse University in 1977. She concluded her education with a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education from Syracuse University in 2003. Dr. Deppoliti has also been certified as a clinical nurse specialist by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist (PMHCNS-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
In addition to her career, Dr. Deppoliti was a consultant for James Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Syracuse, New York from 1986 to 1993. She chose her career because she spent a lot of time in hospitals after her father was injured in a plane accident, gaining great admiration and respect for the nurses who were taking care of him. Dr. Deppoliti considers the highlight of her career to be the part she played in the creation of the clinical resource and development department at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center.
Dr. Deppoliti has found much success as the author of the book "Mental Health Nursing" in the Mosby's Review Series as well as articles for professional journals. She is a member of the Central New York Nursing Collaborative to Advance Research and Evidence-based Practice, the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, and was a member of the Syracuse Area Psychiatric Nurses Association, for which she was president from 1986 to 1988. Dr. Deppoliti has previously been selected for inclusion in the 1st edition of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, the 25th edition of Who's Who of American Women and multiple editions of Who's Who in America.
