NEW YORK, NY, October 30, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present William S. Bahary, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Bahary celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

From 1989 to 1996, Dr. Bahary was a research scientist at Unilever, Inc., in Edgewater, NJ. Prior to holding this position, he was a supervising engineer at Duracell, Inc., in Tarrytown, NY, from 1979 to 1988, a role he recalls as being one of his most meaningful. From 1973 to 1979, he was an adjunct assistant professor at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. In the five years leading up to this post, he was a visiting assistant professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ.

His professional career began at Tex-US Chemical Company in Parsippany, NJ, where he worked as a senior research assistant from 1961 to 1968. Dr. Bahary also served as the scientific advisor to "Stop Anellotech," a citizen's group formed to prevent the manufacture of benzene by Anellotech Inc. in a residential neighborhood. He is very proud of all of the jobs he has held over his career, especially considering he had to move around for many of them. However, the highlight of his career has simply been working as a scientist and being a lifelong learner.

Dr. Bahary is from Iran, but moved to the United States in 1951 and became a naturalized citizen in 1956. The subsequent year, he graduated from the prestigious Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts. He continued his studies at Columbia University, where he obtained a Master of Arts in 1958 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1961. From the time he attended preparatory school, he knew he wanted to be a chemist because he had teachers who would show him the chemical aspect of photography, which fascinated him.

As a respected professional in the field, Dr. Bahary holds membership with several scientific organizations, including the American Solar Energy Society. Additionally, he is a former member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Chemical Society, the Harvard Club of New York City, and the Hudson-Bergen Chemical Society, where he was a division program director from 1975 to 1979. Furthermore, he has been the treasurer of Bahary & Company in Pearl River, NY, since 1960 and was the vice president of Manhattan Sephardic Congregation in 2009.

Throughout the years, he has contributed articles to numerous professional journals and has recently published an essay titled "Report to Iran and America" in a Harvard Essay Book entitled "Recollections and Reflections." In addition to achieving multiple patents in the field, Dr. Bahary was given the Patent Award by Duracell, Inc. He has previously been featured in the 24th edition of Who's Who in the East and the eighth and ninth editions of Who's Who in the World.
