Bill Anderson Honored for Excellence in Fine Arts

Mr. Anderson was inspired to become an artist because of his grandfather, who was very involved in that field

As a professional artist and educator, Bill Anderson has spent his career deeply involved in the creation and study of art.

ESTER, AK, November 01, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bill Anderson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

As a professional artist and educator, Bill Anderson has spent his career deeply involved in the creation and study of art. He was inspired to pursue a career in art because his grandfather, Oscar H. Anderson, was very involved in that field.

Mr. Anderson began his studies with a Bachelor of Science from Minnesota State University in 1963. He then went on to pursue graduate coursework at California State University, Long Beach, the University of California, Irvine, and Minnesota State University.

While he was completing his education, Mr. Anderson worked as an art teacher at the Long Beach Unified School District in California and at Appleton West High School in Wisconsin. He has also taught at Anaheim Union High School District, Los Alamitos Unified School District, Orange County School of the Arts and East Los Angeles College. In 1994, he opened the Bill Anderson Art Gallery, which he manages to this day.

A highlight of Mr. Anderson's career was the time he spent working with two outstanding artists; he spent 32 years working with Mexican artist Raul Anguiano and 15 years working with American artist Milford Zornes. He helped Raul with two murals, one of them was considered the history of the 20th century Mexican art. The opportunity to work with them was the major influence in his art career, other than teaching.

In addition to his work as an artist, Mr. Anderson is an accomplished author, having written several books in a series, entitled "Through the Eyes of Artist Bill Anderson". Some of the entries in this series include, "Seal Beach," "Baseball: Great American Pastime" and "The Fantastic Horse".

Mr. Anderson has been named as an Outstanding Artist of the Year from Huntington Beach, California in 1986 and an outstanding teacher of the year from Anaheim Union High School District in 1975 and 1977.

Looking ahead, Mr. Anderson plans to remain working in his studio. He will continue to build his legacy, which already consists of numerous pieces of beautiful artwork.
