Dr. Dial-Driver prepared for her career by earning a Bachelor of Science in nutrition from Oklahoma State University in 1968. After conducting interviews in her position as dietary interviewer for the Children's Hospital Research Foundation, where she worked from 1968 to 1970, she decided to facilitate choices in the lives of the underprivileged and went on to earn a Master of Arts in English from Oklahoma State University in 1971 and a Doctor of Education in higher education from Oklahoma State University in 1991. Passionate about her professional field, Dr. Dial-Driver has also completed additional post-doctoral programs and most recently studied at the California Institute of Integral Studies in 1994.

Demonstrating considerable professional longevity, Dr. Dial-Driver initially worked as a faculty member in the English and Humanities departments at Rogers State University from 1971 to 1974. After serving in the military from 1974 to 1978, she returned to this position and continues in her role as educator to this day. Particularly proud of making an impact on the lives of her students, Dr. Dial-Driver is a known speaker in her field.

Dr. Dial-Driver has also been the recipient of many awards, notably including the Oklahoma Medal for Excellence in Community and Regional Universities in 2014. Her other recognitions include Rogers State University Faculty Senate Recognition Awards for scholarship, service and excellence. Dr. Dial-Driver has been included in an array of prominent publications, such as Cambridge Who's Who among Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs, Who's Who of American Women and Empire Who's Who Among Executive and Professional Women in Education.

Also an established author, Dr. Dial-Driver has written such works as "Conjunction," "SideWalks: Collected Poems," "Excursions" and "A Play and Four Children's Plays." She has contributed to children's theatre by writing and producing "Beauty and the Beast" in 1987, "Three Little Pigs" in 1988, "Hansel and Gretel" in 1989 and "Elle" in 2005, and she has coordinated television programs and edited numerous works, including "Voices from the Heartland" and "Truth in Buffy," for which she was given an honorary proclamation from the Department of English and Humanities at Rogers State University. In addition to her professional endeavors, she has contributed to her community through involvement with the Oklahoma Higher Education TV Authority, and Let's Talk About it Oklahoma. Interested in remaining aware of developments in her field and the field of education, Dr. Dial-Driver maintains involvement with such organizations as the American Association of University Professors, the Oklahoma Education Association, the National Council of Teachers of English and several honor societies.
