Prior to obtaining these roles, he was senior vice president, assistant general counsel, and assistant secretary of the National City Corporation from 1994 to 2009, and chief counsel and corporate secretary for National Processing, Inc., from 1996 to 2004. Previously, he served as the vice president, senior attorney and assistant secretary of the National City Corporation from 1987 to 1994. Likewise, from 1983 to 1987, he was chief counsel, vice president, and secretary of Ohio Citizens Bank, a subsidiary of National City Corporation, having been an attorney with National City Bank from 1980 to 1983. Earlier in his career, Mr. Langer was an associate with Vanik, Monroe, Zucco, Donahue & Scanlon from 1979 to 1980.

Mr. Langer began his career as a student at Albion College, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1976. He continued his studies at Cleveland State University, completing a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1979. He concluded his education at Case Western Reserve University, earning a Master of Business Administration in 1980. Mr. Langer has been admitted to practice law in the states of Ohio and Florida, as well as before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

A respected voice in his community, Mr. Langer has been affiliated with a number of organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, the Cleveland Bar Association, and the American Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. He was also active with the American Bankers Association and the Bank General Counsel Group, and he is a board member for the Gathering Place, the Bainbridge Community United Church of Christ. He is a trustee of the Foundation for Geauga Parks, former board member of the Geauga County Agricultural Society, and former trustee for Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland, Inc.

Throughout his career, Mr. Langer has been recognized for his achievements. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who Among College Students in American Colleges and Universities.
