    CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA, November 02, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Myron "Mike" Frank Wilson with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Wilson celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Mr. Wilson is a retired electronics executive who worked for Collins Radio Company, which was acquired by Rockwell International in 1973, for nearly 40 years. He held various production and engineering positions including Director of Group Operations for the Avionics Group, Director of Product Assurance, Director of Quality Assurance, Vice President of Manufacturing, and Director of Research and Development. A major American manufacturing conglomerate in the latter half of the 20th century, Rockwell International was involved in aircraft, the space industry (and specifically, the Apollo program), defense-oriented and commercial electronics, automotive and truck components, printing presses, valves and meters and industrial automation. Early in his career, Mr. Wilson was responsible for establishing the company's initial quality assurance function, which was a huge success.

Mr. Wilson also served as a senior examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from 1987 to 1993 and was a participant in three case studies. He was a member of Quality Engineering Magazine's Editorial Board from 1987 to 1989. He was affiliated with multiple professional organizations during his tenure, and served on various boards with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers including the international board of directors. He also chaired the electronics division, twice served on the board of directors and served on the conference management board of the American Society for Quality. Furthermore, he was trustee and vice president of region 11 of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, and served as president in 1991-1992. He is an elected fellow of all three organizations.

Mr. Wilson is currently active on six nonprofit boards, as well as the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight Board. He enjoys volunteering locally and has devoted 10,444 volunteer hours to his favorite causes since the year 2000. For his contributions, he received a Five Seasons Citizenship Award in 2016, was named Veteran of the Year by the Metro Veteran Council in 2014 and was named to the Iowa Volunteer Hall of Fame in 2013. He was also honored with a Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival Hero Award in 2011, a Community Philanthropist Award from United Way of East Central Iowa in 2009, and an Outstanding Individual Philanthropist Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2011, among others. He has been cited in the 20th and 21st editions of Who's Who in the Midwest.

Mr. Wilson has been a member of the First Congregational UCC Church in Cedar Rapids since 1953, where he has served as trustee.

Mr. Wilson obtained a BS in Engineering Administration from Case Institute of Technology, as well as a BS in mechanical engineering and a BS in electrical engineering. He has since become a certified reliability engineer, certified quality engineer and certified manufacturing engineer and is a registered professional engineer in Ohio and Iowa. Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.
