Dr. Anthony Pridgeon has held the position of adjunct professor of physical geography at Canisius College since 2003.

Dr. Pridgeon began his career in education as a secondary school teacher of science in the Buffalo public schools. From 1970 to 2003, he taught regents Earth Science, AP Biology and regents Physics and was the chairman of his science department from 1980 to 2003. During this time, he also served as an adjunct professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo from 1980 to 1984 and taught in a similar position at Canisius College also in Buffalo, NY, from 1987 to 1989.

He has held the position of adjunct professor of physical geography at Canisius College since 2003. From 1980 to 1990, he served on the Western NY Science Congress Committee as secretary, vice chairman and chairman. During that same period, Dr. Pridgeon held memberships in the National Science Teachers Association and the Niagara Frontier Science Supervisors Association. Throughout his teaching career, he has been active in the Science Teachers Association of New York State. Dr. Pridgeon's decision to pursue the teaching of science was influenced significantly by his esteem for his high school science teacher whose broad knowledge of both the descriptive and physical sciences was evident in both his classrooms and laboratories.

Prior to embarking on his career, Dr. Pridgeon earned a bachelor's degree from Canisius College in 1970. He followed this with a Master of Education degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1971 and completed his Doctor of Philosophy at the State University of New York at Buffalo, in 1982.

In addition to his career, Dr. Pridgeon served as a reserve officer in the United States Army in Buffalo from 1970 to 1983. In 1983, he earned the Army Commendation Medal for his leadership as company commander of the 277th Quartermaster Company in Niagara Falls, New York. Recently he has increased his participation in a number of Catholic ministries serving his parish and the greater community. Dr. Pridgeon has previously been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America.
