George Wilson Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Wilson has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the engineering industry

George Wilson was given an award from the Mathematical Association of America in 1964.

PARK RIDGE, IL, November 05, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present George Wilson with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Wilson celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Wilson has an extensive career in software engineering, most recently at Cummins-Allison Corporation in Mount Prospect, IL, from 1977 to 1981 and again from 1998 to 2016. From 1987 to 1998, he was at Sun Electric and Suntronic Technology Group in Crystal Lake, IL. Prior to this, he was a software engineer and supervisor at Recognition Business Systems in Elk Grove Village, IL, from 1981 to 1987. While at Cummins-Allison, he was chosen to lead a software venture involving updating their desktop currency scanners. His work here stands out in his mind as the highlight of his career.

His interest in mechanical engineering began as a child when he was living with his grandfather, who was also a mechanical engineer. However, as he grew up and his interests became more developed, he realized he had an interest in electronics. He attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1968. While pursuing his studies, he found himself drawn to the computer-focused courses.
In addition to his work as an engineer, he writes to prisoners as form of prison ministry as a born-again Christian. He finds that it is a difficult way to be involved in the community, but seeing a need for this role, he decided to act on it.

As an active member of the community, Mr. Wilson holds membership with Mensa International, the Illinois Saint Andrew Society, the Clan MacCallum-Malcolm Society of North America, and the Clan Gunn Society of North America. In acknowledgement of his accomplishments, he was given an award from the Mathematical Association of America in 1964. Mr. Wilson has previously been featured in the 62nd and 63rd editions of Who's Who in America.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, George Wilson has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
