A highly esteemed electrical engineer who is currently retired, Mr. Tatum has more than 40 years of experience in the design, development, test, and evaluation of advanced systems in both defense and commercial environments. His technological background includes the design and development of sophisticated missile guidance and control hardware and software, advanced servo/control systems, guided missiles, state-of-the-art infrared and broadband RF missile guidance sensors, automatic target recognizers, and automatic manufacturing equipment. He was a skilled and motivated engineer recognized by peers and management as a technical leader.

Prior to retiring in 2007, Mr. Tatum did consulting engineering work in the Defense Industry as the sole employee of his company, WFT Consulting. Prior to this post, he held the position of engineering manager for FSI International from 1995 to 2000. From 1971 to 1995, he was employed by Texas Instruments Inc. While at Texas Instruments, he had tenures as a design engineer, project engineer, program manager, image processing laboratory manager and was recognized as a senior member of the technical staff, a recognition given to the top 7% of the engineering staff at Texas Instruments. He was the Flight Test Director for the HARM missile program during Phase I of the missile's development and a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.

Mr. Tatum began his career as an electrical engineer with Radiation Inc. in Melbourne, Florida, in 1965, before serving as servo control system manager of Omega-t Systems Inc. in Richardson, Texas from 1969 to 1971.

In addition to his primary career responsibilities, he served as a member of the industry advisory committee of the aerospace engineering department at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1985.

Mr. Tatum earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1965 and a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Florida in 1967. He was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Kappa Theta, Epsilon Nu Gamma, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. He was a recipient of a fellowship from the National Science Foundation while at the University of Florida and received a "Pat on the Back" award from Sports Illustrated while in High School for lettering in both basketball and math. In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Tatum was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest and the first edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
