Mr. Gettel's varied professional experiences contribute to his entrepreneurial, organizational development and leadership skills. As Managing Director of Schenck M&A Solutions of Milwaukee, WI until 2012, he helped establish an investment banking practice for a regional accounting firm and served as an advisor to privately-held middle market companies in growth and value realization through strategic acquisitions, sales and recapitalizations. Before joining Schenck in 2008, he helped establish and served as Executive Vice President of The Waterstone Group in Mequon, WI from 1994. From 1991 to 1994, he was a Partner in the law firm of Michael, Best & Friedrich in Milwaukee, WI, where he developed and led the firm's commercial finance group and practiced law. He received his MBA and JD from the University of Illinois in 1984 and his BA in Philosophy with Honors from Northwestern University in 1980.
Born in Evanston, Illinois in 1959 to James Robert and Mary Ellen (Davis) Gettel, James Gettel is married to Jennifer Anne (Vogel) Gettel and they have two daughters: Katharine Elizabeth and Sarah Jane. He enjoys bicycling, reading and listening to music.
