Now retired, Ms. Clark concluded her career with Clark & Stelloh, CPAs, PC in 2018, a full-service tax, accounting and business consulting firm located in Glendale, Colo., after four years with the company. She previously excelled with her own firm as the owner of Suzanne Clark, CPA, PC between 1983 and 2014. Ms. Clark originally gained expertise as a staff accountant with a local Denver firm from 1982 to 1983.
Authoring several books in her field, Ms. Clark first published "Providing Personal Finance Planning Services in Your CPA Practice" in 1987. She later penned "Providing Fiduciary Accounting and Tax Services" in 1990, "The Personal Financial Planning Process: An Introduction" in 1993 and "Estates and Trusts: A Guide to Fiduciary Advisors" in 1996. Furthermore, Ms. Clark was a longtime contributing author for Individual Tax Update from 1996 to 2016.
Prior to working in accounting, Ms. Clark held the role of researcher at the Community College of Denver, staff administrator for the Solar Energy Research Institute in Golden, Colo. and director of administrative services at the Suburban Community Training and Service Center in Englewood, Colo., beginning in 1973. Involved locally, Ms. Clark later served on the board of directors for the Children's Center in Denver from 1982 to 1984 and the Hospice of Peace in Denver from 1987 to 1988. Since 2012, she has maintained involvement on the board of directors for the Mohar Charitable Foundation.
In 1970, Ms. Clark obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business at the University of Colorado. She concluded her studies with a Master of Arts in Urban Affairs in 1978. Ms. Clark later became certified as a public accountant in 1983 and certified as personal finance specialist in 1995.
Ms. Clark is a longstanding member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, where she served on the organization's personal finance specialist education committee from 1988 to 1993. She is also a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs, where she served on the specialization oversight board from 1984 to 1987, the board of directors from 1997 to 1999 and the finance literacy task force from 2005 to 2007. Ms. Clark has notably been cited in more than 20 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business and Who's Who in the World.
