Susan J. Augustus Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Augustus with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. With more than 40 years of professional experience, Ms. Augustus was a staff nurse anesthetist with St. Anne's Hospital from 2003 to 2011. Prior to obtaining this position, she was a staff nurse anesthetist with Charlton Memorial Hospital from 1983 to 2003 and a staff nurse anesthetist and clinical instructor with St. Joseph Hospital from 1980 to 1983. Earlier in her career, Ms. Augustus was an assistant head nurse in the recovery room of Rhode Island Hospital from 1972 to 1978, having been a staff nurse in the medical intensive care unit and surgical intensive care unit from 1970 to 1972.

Ms. Augustus began her career as a student at the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing, obtaining a diploma in 1968. She continued her studies at the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia, where she earned an additional diploma in 1980. Ms. Augustus subsequently concluded her education at St. Joseph's College, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1993.

In addition to her work in the nursing industry, Ms. Augustus served with the Rhode Island Air National Guard from 1978 to 1998. In this role, she was the first female commander in the state, as well as the first female colonel. She served in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.

Throughout her career, Ms. Augustus has been recognized for her accomplishments and achievements. She has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Nursing, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who Among Human Services Professionals.
