Ms. Crumbo Halsey worked as a designer and instructor of the Native American studies program at the Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, UT, from 1982 to 1986. She was also a guest artist instructor at the Taos Pueblo Day School Center in Taos, NM, in 1980, where she participated in projects at Holy Cross Hospital and the South Valley housing projects. She has exhibited her artwork in a number of solo and group shows at several galleries, museums, festivals and institutions, including the Heard Museum in Phoenix, the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, Russia, the Gilcrease Institute of American History and Art in Tulsa, OK, and the Philbrook Art Center in Tulsa, among many others.

Ms. Crumbo Halsey has studied at various educational institutions across the United States. She began her education at the Wasatch Academy from 1958 to 1961. Soon thereafter, she attended the University of Texas at El Paso from 1961 to 1962 and the University of Colorado from 1970 to 1971. She then studied at the Taos Academy Charter School in New Mexico from 1972 to 1974, where she studied under Ray Vinella and Ron Barsano and specialized in portraiture of the three predominant cultures of northern New Mexico: Native American, Anglo and Hispanic. These works would ultimately travel to the U.S.S.R. and was found to be of great interest by the Russian citizenry. Later on, she attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City from 1974 to 1975, where she studied with working painters, illustrators and videographers and worked at the Heye Foundation with the National Museum of the American Indian.

In 2017, Ms. Crumbo Halsey was awarded the Muskogee Women's Artist of the Year Award, and the Mocelyn Larkin Award from the Intertribal Counsel in Tulsa. The previous year, she won the Global Vision Award from the Tulsa Global Alliance. Years prior, she has won numerous other awards from the likes of Baker University, the Wasatch Academy, and the Philbrook Art Center. She has been listed in the 47th edition of Who's Who in America, the 20th edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest, the first edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, and several editions of Who's Who of American Women.
