John Prosser Scott Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. John Prosser Scott has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the consultancy industry



    TULSA, OK, November 14, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Prosser Scott—management consultant, journalist, TV producer and author—has been selected by Marquis Who's Who to receive its Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes Mr. Scott's accomplishments through nearly 40 years in the consultancy industry, as well as his other achievements in the communications field.

After receiving a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri, Mr. Scott served four years in the U.S. Navy before becoming a sportswriter for the Chicago Sun-Times. A year later, he was named outdoor recreation/environmental editor for the Tulsa Tribune. In the latter position, he exposed the negative environmental effects of clear-cut forestry and herbicide use in southeastern Oklahoma. He was named Outdoor Communicator of the Year by the Oklahoma Wildlife Federation in 1975.

Mr. Scott joined Spears & Associates in 1979 and became vice president of finance and administration of Spears Consulting Group in 1981. Highlights of his work include managing a comprehensive study of oil industry information needs related to enhanced oil recovery for the U.S. Department of Energy, analyzing the U.S. market for diesel fuel and industrial lubricants for a major oil company and assessing worldwide heavy oil reserves and production technology for a Fortune 50 company. On two occasions, Mr. Scott addressed the Scotia Howard Weil Annual Energy Conference, one of the world's premier energy investment gatherings.

In 1990, Mr. Scott started his own consulting firm, Scott & Company. In that capacity, he assisted Clean Air Action Corporation in its efforts to reduce ozone pollution on the U.S. East Coast and initiate greenhouse gas mitigation projects in Africa. Mr. Scott later served as organizational development consultant to the Fine Arts Magnet Program of Tulsa Public Schools. He also served as a consultant with General Motors' Standards for Excellence program (2004-2012) and Ford's Consumer Experience Movement (2014-2016).

For nine years (1995-2003), Mr. Scott wrote and produced the Fishin' Magazine Television Series, which won the Vision Award as America's best non-network sports program in 2000. Mr. Scott has also authored The Best of Times: Bud Wilkinson and the Rise of Oklahoma Football.

Mr. Scott has been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
