Louis Savrin, JD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    NEW YORK, NY, November 16, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Louis Savrin, JD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Savrin celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Now retired, Mr. Savrin was an independent practicing attorney in New York City for more than 54 years. First representing cases for the tax department of Arthur Young & Company between 1951 and 1955, he later established an independent practice in 1955, Savrin & Berson, for which he maintained involvement as partner until his retirement in 2005. During his career, he further devoted 12 years as the general counsel and secretary for Pickwick International, Inc. in New York City, beginning in 1965. While serving in this capacity, he led Pickwick in its initial stock issue to the public and subsequently on to the New York Stock Exchange, which were huge achievements.

Likewise, Mr. Savrin served as a member of the District 21 School Board in Brooklyn, N.Y. Additionally, he excelled as a docent for the Whitney Museum of American Art in Manhattan, N.Y. He briefly served B'nai B'rith International, the oldest Jewish service organization in the world, as president of a chapter during the late 1950s. Mr. Savrin was later inducted into the B'nai B'rith International Hall of Fame in 1967 and received a Torch of Freedom Award by the Anti-Defamation League in 1982.

Between 1945 and 1946, Mr. Savrin completed service in the United States Army. He later pursued an undergraduate degree at New York University in 1948 before earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence at the University of Pennsylvania in 1951. He found further success as the associate editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review from 1949 to 1951. Mr. Savrin was later admitted to the New York Bar in 1952.
