Most recently president of Alma C. Moore & Associates Magazine Consultants, where she worked until 1995, she started out her career as an art and fashion editor of Ladies Home Journal from 1957 to 1960, and after two years as a stylist for a top advertising photographer, she became women's editor for TV Guide magazine, interviewing and photographing leading stage, film and television stars, working there from 1962 to 1970. She then served as the director of advertising, promotion and public relations at Yves Saint Laurent Parfums, vice president and promotion and editorial director at Viva/Omni Magazines, director of marketing communications for Redbook Magazine, and editor and publisher of Women Entrepreneur Magazine, a non-profit organization for business owners, and designed Kaleidoscope Kids for children 9 to 12.
Working with her husband, Roy Moore, Ms. Moore developed "Thomas Jefferson's Journey to the South of France", a book of photographs and features concerning the former president, which was published in 1999. She is working on a second Jefferson book and a book on Jane Austen with her co-author, actor/author Barbara Feldon. Along with her creative and professional endeavors, Ms. Moore has exhibited an interest in local involvement and was a member of an independent judicial screening panel for the New York City Civil Court Judges Democratic Committee in 1985. She has also been involved with Emily's List, the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee and the Children's Aid Society.
Committed to various areas of community and professional interest, Ms. Moore is a member of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, Inc., the National Trust for Historical Preservation and the League of Women Voters. She has also maintained involvement with the American Civil Liberties Union, the Women's City Club of New York and Doctors Without Borders. Due to her accomplishments in her field, Ms. Moore has been honored in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
