Thomas Michael Ferstl Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Ferstl has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the appraisal industry

LITTLE ROCK, AR, November 20, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Thomas Michael Ferstl with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Ferstl celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In his formative years, Mr. Ferstl worked as a "skip tracer" while pursuing higher education. While serving in this position, he became curious about the legal industry, having been surrounded by fellow peers who were involved in law, as well as individuals he had to locate within his profession. These experiences propelled him forward, and he attended night school in an effort to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, which he completed in 1967. Upon graduating, he founded Ferstl Valuation Services in Little Rock, AR, where he remains to the present day. In addition to this appointment, he owns Ferstl Enterprises, which he started in 1972. His principal forte is in the area of Litigation Support and Expert Witness Testimony in real estate-related lawsuits.

Prior to founding his own companies, Mr. Ferstl served as a chief appraiser with the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, also known as Freddie Mac, in Little Rock between 1970 and 1972, having commenced his professional career as vice president and manager of the Republic Mortgage Company from 1962 to 1970. While pursuing his undergraduate degree and working with the Republic Mortgage Company, he discovered that real estate appraisers were well compensated for their efforts. Although he was offered employment through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Secret Service, the state attorney general's office and the local prosecutor's office, Mr. Ferstl accepted an appointment with the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, where he headed real estate appraisals for the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas and New Mexico.

Renowned in his field for his wealth of knowledge and expertise, Mr. Ferstl also holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Arkansas. In order to remain alert to changes in the field, he has maintained affiliation with the Arkansas Appraisal Foundation, where he has served as executive secretary since 1989, as well as the Appraisal Institute, where he was chapter president for three years. Utilizing his plethora of industry knowledge, he contributed two books, the first titled "Residential Appraisal Workbook" and the second titled "How to Testify in Court," published in 1977 and 2004, respectively.

For his excellence in the field, Mr. Ferstl has been honored with the Professional Recognition Award by the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers in 1978. Likewise, he was selected for inclusion in the 23rd edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in American Law. However, when asked of his career highlights, he cites his time coaching youth basketball and soccer as rewarding achievements. Winning 15 state championships, he retired from coaching after his 1,000th game; next as an "Expert Witness". He has testified in nearly 700 bench and jury trials over the past +/-50 years; and finally as an Adjunct Professor at The University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Thomas Michael Ferstl has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
