Gary Dean Rinehart Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    DEL MAR, CA, November 21, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Gary Dean Rinehart with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Rinehart celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Since 2010, Mr. Rinehart has served as founder and Practice Director for Decision Interface, Inc. Before assuming this role, he was a Senior Manager of Information Technology at Qualcomm (2007 to 2009), Consulting Practice Director at Enterprise Solutions Group. (2004 to 2005), Vice President of Consulting at Delinea Corporation (2004 to 2005), and Practice Director: Global Utilities Consulting for the Oracle Corporation (1996 to 2004). Gary was the Director: Decision Support at Sharp Healthcare (1993-1996). Beginning in 1990, he spent three years as the Western Region Director of Real Decisions Corporation leading benchmarking and IT performance assessment studies for Real Decision's Western Region clients. Mr. Rinehart worked for Management Analysis Company (MAC) from 1989 to 1990 managing their Technology and Telecommunications consulting practice.

Gary started his career in 1969 working for San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDGE) as a COBOL programmer/Data Systems Analyst. He progressed through various management positions at SDGE from: Corporate Planning Systems Supervisor (1976 to 1981), Manager of Decision Support Services (1981 to 1985), to Manager of Information Technology (1985 to 1988). His first professional role was as an intern systems engineer at IBM in San Diego, CA, (1968 to 1969) while an undergraduate at Cal Poly (Pomona).

Mr. Rinehart taught computer science (1978-1996) at Palomar College, University of California San Diego, and National University. Gary has authored numerous articles including "A Development Strategy for EIS". He is a founding member of Sand Sculptors International that has earned numerous records in the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's largest sand castles. Aside from these pursuits, he dedicates time to running marathons, hiking and singing.

Mr. Rinehart began his academic career at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1969. He was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus in 2015. He continued his studies at the United States International University and received a Master of Science in Management Science in 1974. Beyond these degrees, he is a Certified Data Processor (Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals), a Certified Project Management (Project Management Institute), and a Certified Financial Analyst (Kidder Peabody). Before pursuing academics, he served in the United States Army Reserve (1965-1971) as a Military Accountant achieving a final rank of Staff Sergeant.

As an accomplished professional, Mr. Rinehart has had many notable achievements throughout his career. Gary was named Consultant of the Quarter at Oracle Corporation in 2003. For Public Utilities, he designed and developed a planning system that was marketed nationally by IBM as a design guide for the Public Utilities market. Gary was the project manager and lead programmer/designer of an accounting system for Public Utilities that was marketed world-wide by IBM as an Installed User Program (IUP). He also designed and developed a Public Utility Plant Accounting addendum for Oracle's ERP that is now embedded within the standard Oracle Application Suite and an Internet Bill Presentment and Payment enhancement to Oracles ERP for Public Utilities and Healthcare.

Maintaining an active presence in his community, Mr. Rinehart is a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals, the National Computer Graphics Association, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Enterprise Forum and the Planning Forum, where he served as the President of the San Diego chapter. Additionally, he holds membership with the National Society of Accountants, where he received a Certificate of Appreciation in 1975, and the Association of Internal Management Consultants, where he served as the National Vice President and was named Man of the Year in 1985. Civically, he is a member of his Presbyterian Church choir. Gary has coached Bobby Sox, Little League and Youth Soccer. He considers his girls as his greatest accomplishments.

For all of his achievements, Mr. Rinehart has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award by the National Society of Accountants for the design and development of an accounting system for Public Utilities. He also received the Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Internal Management Consultants for contribution to AIMC. Within the information technology community, he has been recognized with speaking engagements throughout the United States and Europe. He has previously been featured in the first edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America and multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
