Establishing his business in Fresno, CA, in 2009, his practice offers interventional spine techniques such as epidurals, rhizotomies, radiofrequency ablations, endoscopic spine surgery, kyphoplasty, discography, spinal stenosis treatments and electro-diagnostic studies.
While continuing to conduct research to advance in his field, Dr. Ky has also been the co-author of several published pieces, including "Independent Medical Examinations: Facts and Fallacies" in 2009. A passionate physician, he maintains membership with numerous professional organizations relative to his work, including the American Osteopathic Association, the Spine Intervention Society, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
Dr. Ky completed undergraduate coursework in business at California State University in 1990 and coursework in acupuncture medicine at Xiamen University in Fujian, China, in 2000. He then graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. From there, Dr. Ky completed a family medicine internship at Downey Medical Center with the Western University of Health Sciences in 2005, followed by residency work in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a fellowship in the department of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
Entering the United States in September 1979, Dr. Ky had a very difficult childhood. A refugee from Cambodia, he and his brother both survived a child labor camp. Under the Khmer Rouge, they were separated from their parents for nearly three-and-a-half years after the takeover. His father eventually found Dr. Ky and his sibling when he was 10 years old, and they quickly left for America. Entering the country as a child, Dr. Ky was illiterate, but he managed to improve his English skills and eventually learned five other languages. Entering school, he studied the sciences while his younger brother went into dentistry. Attributing his success to his sister, who earned two master's degrees, and his mother for helping them thrive, he is happier than ever. Today, Dr. Ky is the proud father of his own three children.
