Notably, she has been a partner of Preston, Thorgrimson, Shidler, Gates & Ellis, partner of Shidler, McBroom, Gates & Lucas, associate for Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCoy. In 2007, Ms. Parks concluded in her legal career and established her own company, Queens Cup Nursery LLC, to turn her passion for Northwest native plants into a full time business.

Ms. Parks prepared for her career by achieving a Bachelor of Arts in history from Stanford University and a JD from University of Pennsylvania. Shortly thereafter, she was admitted to the bar of New York in 1971 and the bar of Washington in 1974. Today, Ms. Parks is a member of the Vashon Island Land Trust, the Vashon Island Grower's Association, the Northwest Perennial Alliance, Washington State Native Plant Society, and the Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association. As she looks to the future, Ms. Parks intends to expand her business while taking on new projects and opportunities as they arise.
