An accomplished listee, Dr. Goode celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Dr. Goode taught music theory and was supervisor of waitresses and waiters at Transylvania Music Camp in Brevard, NC in the summer of 1954. She was then hired as a piano teacher for the Kings Mountain School District in North Carolina from 1954 to 1955. From 1955 to 1956, she was employed as a retail discount clerk at Universal CIT in Manhasset, NY. After this opportunity, she was a vocal music teacher in the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District in New York from 1956 to 1961. From 1961 to 1963, she served a vocal music teacher in Raleigh, North Carolina. Following this appointment, Dr. Goode held the position of choral director and music theory teacher in East Meadow School District in New York from 1963 until her retirement in 1992.

Prior to embarking on her career, Dr. Goode received her Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in 1954. Following this, she earned her Master of Arts from Adelphi University in 1961. In 1978, she completed her education with a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Goode has received professional certification in general music in North Carolina and permanent certification as a music teacher in the state of New York.

In addition to her career, Dr. Goode also did work as an adjudicator for the New York State Music Association from 1966 to 1992. She served as Corresponding Secretary and Editor of the Nassau Music Educators Association's Newsletter, and she was a member of the Music Educators National Conference and a life member of American Choral Directors Association. She also worked as a poll assistant and judge for the Rutherford County Board of Electors in Ellenboro, North Carolina from 1994 to 2003.

As an avid genealogist, Dr. Goode has been associated with the Genealogical Society of Old Tryon County, the Jamestowne Society, the Guilford County Genealogical Society, the Sovereign Colonial Society Americans of Royal Descent, the Society Magna Charta Dames and Barons, the Daughters of the America Revolution and the Plantagenet Society. Additionally, she is affiliated with the Iron Dukes, Pi Kappa Lambda, Delta Phi Alpha and Sigma Kappa. Dr. Goode has previously been included in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who of American Women.
