Joanne Ruth Nuss Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    GREAT BEND, KS, December 03, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Joanne Ruth Nuss with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Nuss celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Nuss has dedicated her entire career to challenging herself in her area of the arts and bronze casting. Working in various capacities over the years, some of her more recent works included a bronze sculpture for the Bud Pearson Swedish Chapel at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas in 2014 and a second bronze sculpture designated for a prayer garden on campus in 2016. She has hosted numerous one-woman shows at locations across the country including at the Bette Moses Gallery in Great Bend, Kansas, the Amsterdam Whitney International Fine Art Gallery in New York City and the Shidoni Art Gallery and Foundry in Tesuque, New Mexico. Likewise, she has held exhibitions at multiple different locations such as The Lawrence-Arnott Art Gallery in Tangier and Marrakesh, Morocco, the Upstream People Gallery in Omaha, Neb. the Agora Gallery, New York City, and the Inma Gallery, Saudi Arabia. Works held in private collections of King Hassan II of Morocco, Prince Mohammed Bolkiah of Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, and American Legation Museum, Tangier, Morocco.

An artist-in-residence at the Helen Wurlitzer Foundation in Taos, N.M. and lecturer and instructor at such locations as the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, Mo., Barton County Community College, Brookridge Elementary School and the Menoriah Hospital, Ms. Nuss has always maintained a busy schedule. Her principal work has included an architectural project in Tangier, Morocco. She has also been a featured artist in Artist Spectrum Magazine. Publications include Dictionary of American Sculptors, 18th Century to the Present, and Kansas City's Single Professionals: Women and Men (1981),. Involved in numerous professional organizations throughout her four-plus decades in the art world, Ms. Nuss has been a longstanding member of the International Sculpture Center, Hamilton, New Jersey, the National Association of Women Artists, New York, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C.

Honored many times for her work, Ms. Nuss received an Award of Excellence at the Seventh Annual All Media International Juried Online Exhibition at the Upstream People Gallery in 2005 and a First Place Award at a National Exhibition at the University of Northern Iowa in 2001. She was also named the First Female Foreign Artist commissioned for an architectural project in Tangier, Morocco between 1988 and 1990. Furthermore, she has been the recipient of several awards from various biographical publications, including the International Biographical Center and the American Biographical Institute. Additionally, Ms. Nuss has been cited in every edition of Who's Who in America since 2000, Who's Who in American Art (2010 to present) and close to 20 editions of Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.

Notably, Ms. Nuss holds a B.A from Fort Hays State University (1975) and was accepted into the Master's Program at the Santa Fe Art Institute, where she studied under internationally known artist Beverly Pepper. She formerly studied at Valparaiso University, the University of Kansas and the University of Copenhagen. Enjoying her own health while continuing her passion for her work is something she never takes for granted.
