Born in Bhopalwala, (Undivided India), Mr. Virmani studied in his home country, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering at Maulana Azad College of Engineering and Technology in 1969. He later excelled as a resident engineer for Continental Air Conditioning Company in Kuwait between 1976 and 1983. From 2011 to 2014, he has been serving on the board of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc. For this same organization, Mr. Virmani held the position of Chapter President between 1994 and 1995 and member of the ACREX exhibitions guide committee in 1997.
In 2003, Mr. Virmani was presented with the John F. James International Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc. The organization later honored him with a Regional Award of Merit in 2007, Distinguished Service Award in 2014 & Life Time Achievement award from ISHRAE in 2014. Recipient of Outstanding Contribution in HVAC Industry in 2009 (ASHRAE & ISHRAE), selected for inclusion in the second edition of Who's Who in Asia in 2011, Mr. Virmani has also been featured in every edition of Who's Who in the World since 2010.
