Mr. Beekman began his career as a student at Harvard University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in 1971. He continued his studies with Yale University, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1980. He has been admitted to practice law in the state of New York since 1981.
A respected voice in his community, Mr. Beekman has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association and the American College of Investment Counsel. On the board of trustees of the New York Historical Society, Mr. Beekman has also been active with the Library Council for the Museum of Modern Art, the Century Association and the Grolier Club.
