With 45 years of professional experience, Ms. Ogden was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly in Trenton, NJ, from 1982 to 1996. Prior to obtaining this role, she was mayor of the Township of Millburn, NJ, from 1979 to 1981 and a member of the Millburn Township Committee from 1976 to 1981. Earlier in her career, Ms. Ogden was a staff associate with the Foreign Policy Association from 1956 to 1958 and a researcher and staff assistant with the Ford Foundation in New York City from 1951 to 1956.
Ms. Ogden began her career as a student at Smith College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1950. She then joined Columbia University, completing a Master of Arts in 1963. After obtaining some experience in the field, she returned to her studies with Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where she earned a Master of Arts in city and regional planning in 1977.
A respected voice in her industry, Ms. Ogden has been affiliated with a number of organizations in her community. A member of the Garden Club of America, she has served on the board of governors of the New Jersey Historical Society, and she was a trustee of the New Jersey chapter of the Nature Conservancy and St. Barnabas Medical Center. She is the former president of the New Jersey Advisory Drug Abuse Advisory Council and the former chair of the Garden State Preservation Trust and the Governor's Council on New Jersey Outdoors.
Throughout her career, Ms. Ogden has been honored for her accomplishments. She received the National Association for State Outdoors Recreation Liaison Officers Citation, the Certificate of Appreciation from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Alliance for Art Education, and the Distinguished Service Award from the Art Educators of New Jersey. She has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Politics, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who of American Women.
