An accomplished listee, Mr. Stanley celebrates many years of experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With over 40 years of professional experience, Mr. Stanley is the president and Principal Hydrogeologist for the Curt Stanley Consulting Group LLC since 2016. In addition to his primary role, he also serves as a Principal Consultant of GSI Environmental since 2016. Earlier in his career, he was the Global Discipline Leader of Hydrogeology at the Shell Oil Company prior to his retirement in 2016. While at Shell, he became the first hydrogeologist for the company and the petroleum industry and has served as both a fact and expert witness in various litigation matters. Before accepting this position at Shell, he worked for Geological Resources in Raleigh, NC, and as a research assistant at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, from 1977 to 1979. His first professional role was as an industrial engineering assistant with the United Parcel Service of America Inc. in Raleigh, NC, from 1976 to 1977.

Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Stanley was a member of API's Soil and Groundwater Technical Group from 1979 to 2016, serving as chairman from 1997 to 2016. One of his professors, Dr. Henry Brown, convinced him that geology would be a rewarding career. Having always had a passion for groundwater and the environment, he combined the two areas of study to become a hydrogeologist, which was an emerging science at the time. After starting at Shell, Mr. Stanley continued his studies at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Waterloo as well as taking numerous geology and management courses through Shell.

Mr. Stanley is a Certified Professional Geological Scientist through the American Institute of Professional Geologists, and he is a Licensed Geologist in the state of North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Geoscientist in the state of Texas.
