Ilse Elisabeth Kramer was a rare book bibliographer with the John Carter Brown Library at Brown University in Providence, RI, from 1962 to 1991.

With more than 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Kramer was a rare book bibliographer with the John Carter Brown Library at Brown University in Providence, RI, from 1962 to 1991. Earlier in her career, she worked in the library department of German with the University of Bonn from 1959 to 1962.

Ms. Kramer began her career as a student at the University of Cologne, earning a Master of Library Science in 1959. In addition to her primary roles, she has served as a consultant for M&S Rare Books and Press, Inc., and she was a translator at the John Carter Brown Library from 1962 to 1991. Ms. Kramer has also been an archivist with Central Congregational Church since 1989.Ms. Kramer immigrated to the United states in 1962 and became an American citizen in 1988.

A respected voice in her areas of expertise, Ms. Kramer has been affiliated with a number of organizations in her community. She has also written several articles to professional journals, and she authored the books "Die Wunderbare Neue Weit" and "Pimpinella," and she co-authored "Gefuehlte Wahrheit" with Jürgen Mittelstraß.

Throughout her career, Ms. Kramer has been recognized for her achievements and accomplishments. She has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Women. Ms. Kramer considers herself a poet most of all. She started writing poems at the age of seven. Her poems were published in journals and anthologies.
