OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, December 17, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present John Henry Hansen with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Hansen celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Influenced by his mother, who was also an educator, Mr. Hansen has served as the Director of Latin Education for the Classics and Letters Department at the University of Oklahoma for the last two years, as well as an instructor for the same department since 2002. He began his professional teaching career as a research translator for the university's History of Science Collections in 1992 and became an adjunct professor of Latin at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK, the following year. Subsequently, he became a Latin teacher at Westmoore High School in Oklahoma City, OK, for nine years. The Moore Public Schools chose him as their Teacher of the Year for the 1999-2000 school year.

Mr. Hansen earned a Bachelor of Arts in letters from the University of Oklahoma in 1989. He then received a Master of Arts in Classics from the University of Cincinnati three years later, eventually returning to the University of Oklahoma to obtain a Master of Arts in Library Science in 2003. Throughout his career, his students have done many memorable things that have enriched his experiences as a leader in education. He is especially proud that many of his former students have gone on to become teachers themselves.

Acknowledged by many in his local community, Mr. Hansen has received a number of accolades for his accomplishments. He received a Philip Nolan Scholarship from the University of Oklahoma in 1988, as well as an Outstanding Advising Award from the College of Arts and Sciences and an Excellence in Teaching Award in 2009. He also received an Ovatio from the Classical Association of the Middle West and South the following year. He is listed in the 25th edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest and the 65th edition of Who's Who in America.
