BRIDGEPORT, MI, December 17, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Robert William Stach, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Stach celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Stach is a professor emeritus of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Michigan-Flint. Hired in 1987, during his tenure he also served as the director of research, chairman of chemistry and senior advisor to the chancellor and spent several years as the activity supervisor for the university's King-Chavez-Parks College Day Program in Flint, MI. Dr. Stach formerly taught as an associate professor in the department of anatomy and cell biology at State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse between 1985 and 1987, associate member of the faculty of the Center of Neurobehavioral Sciences between 1979 and 1987, and assistant professor and associate professor in the department of biochemistry and molecular biology between 1974 and 1987.

One of the most profound times during Dr. Stach's career in academia was during his years as the senior advisor to the chancellor at the University of Michigan. A role that provided a much broader perspective of academia, he got to witness academia from a chief administrator and business point of view as opposed to an educator's perspective.

Dr. Stach contributed a chapter in the 1987 book "Radioreceptors Assays" and the 1989 "The Biology of Nerve Growth Factor: Its Interaction with Cells of the Immune System," and he has contributed numerous articles to scholarly journals in his area of expertise. In recent years, he authored a series of four science-fiction novels: "Saving the Human Race," "The Ice Age Cometh," "The Andromeda Galaxy and Beyond" and "Time to Travel Again In Space." The books were inspired by climate change we are seeing now.

A longstanding member of the American Association of University Professors, Dr. Stach has also been active for many years with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Society for Cell Biology, the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Phi Lambda Upsilon. He has been serving as a congressional liaison committee member for the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology in Washington since 1997.

Involved in his local community, Dr. Stach is a member of the United Methodist Church in Grand Blanc, MI, where he once served as chair of the administrative board and member of pastor-parish relations. He has also been involved as a supervisor for the State of Michigan Regional Science Olympiad in Flint.

Interested in the sciences since grade school, Dr. Stach went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1967 and a Doctor of Philosophy in organic chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in 1972. During the summer of 1968, he was a DuPont research fellow at the University of Wisconsin.

Throughout his career, Dr. Stach earned numerous research grants from the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Strokes between 1975 and 1991. He has been included in the 55th and 60th editions of Who's Who in America.

Married to Bettie Marie Jones since 1966, Dr. Stach has one daughter. Enjoying his retirement, he loves to read, write science fiction and mystery novels, do woodworking projects and practice the guitar. He also enjoys bird watching.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Robert William Stach, Ph.D., has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
