An accomplished listee, Elizabeth MacDonald celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For more than 50 years, Ms. MacDonald has excelled in music and musical education. Since the early 1970s, she has worked as a private woodwind instructor as well as a teacher with the University of Maine as well. Prior to these appointments, she began her career as a bassoonist with the Music in Maine Woodwind Quintet. Likewise, Ms. MacDonald has also lent her musical prowess to other acts and organizations, including the Portland Symphony Orchestra, Colby College and the Northern Conservatory of Music.

Playing clarinet as a child, Ms. MacDonald grew to realize that she wanted to play something a little more unique, leading her to play the bassoon into adulthood. A member of the International Double Reed Society, she obtained a Bachelor of Music in instrumental music education and a Master of Music in music literature and performance from Eastman School of Music. In a career filled with highlights, the moments that stand out to Ms. MacDonald include playing with her teacher in the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and playing under well-known conductor Arthur Fiedler.

While she was pursuing her bachelor's degree, Ms. MacDonald had the honor of touring for three months with an orchestra chosen by the State Department to represent the United States throughout Europe and Russia. For her excellence in the field, she has been recognized many times, earning features in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Entertainment, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who of American Women. In the coming years, Ms. MacDonald intends to continue parlaying her love of music to a new generation of audiences.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Elizabeth MacDonald has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
