William J. Glasgow Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

William J. Glasgow is a retired attorney, corporate executive and, most recently, chief restructuring officer for American International Group, Inc. Global Real Estate Group (AIG).

Mr. Glasgow is a retired attorney, corporate executive and, most recently, chief restructuring officer for American International Group, Inc. Global Real Estate Group (AIG). Employed with AIG between 2009 and 2012, he was part of a team that was able to turnaround a failing business with the help of the U.S. Treasury and the New York Federal Reserve in a very short period of time.

Mr. Glasgow also worked in numerous upper level management positions in previous years, including as executive vice president and chief operating officer for Scanlan Kemper Bard Companies; a managing director of Madrona Venture Group LLP; as senior vice president and chief financial officer of PacifiCorp; president and chief executive officer of PacifiCorp Financial Services; president of Nerco, Inc.; and president and chief executive officer of BCN Data Systems, Inc. Regarding his background in law, Mr. Glasgow had senior roles with several large, highly respected law firms, including as chief operating officer of Fish & Neave LLP/Ropes & Gray LLP and as a partner of Perkins Coie LLP and Stoel Rives LLP.

There were many highlights in Mr. Glasgow's 40 year career. One was during his tenure at Perkins Coie LLP in Portland, OR. Hired in 1983 to establish their Portland office, he led the effort that turned the office into a major Portland law office within just a few years. He also enjoyed several great years with PacifiCorp, a major diversified electric power company in the west. Taken on board in 1988 as senior vice president and general counsel of its financial services subsidiary, he later held the roles of chairman, chief executive officer, and president, overseeing all of its non-regulated businesses, as well as CFO of the parent company, PacificCorp, a Fortune 200 Company.

Mr. Glasgow is a longstanding member of the Oregon Bar Association, in which he is currently inactive. He is also a member and former president of the Oregon chapter of the Harvard Law School Alumni Association and was formerly on the board of directors of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Locally, Mr. Glasgow has participated with numerous organizations that he is very passionate about. He formerly served on the board of directors of the International Masters Games Association, as vice chairman of the NIKE World Masters Games, and as founding president of the board of directors of the Oregon Sports Authority. Additionally, he was a trustee for the Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Technology, president of the board of trustees for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Portland Art Museum and the Marin Symphony.

Highly educated, Mr. Glasgow first earned a Bachelor of Science in economics, magna cum laude, at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. He then earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence, magna cum laude, at Harvard University in 1972. He has been admitted to the Oregon Bar Association, the U.S. District Court of Oregon, the Ninth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Glasgow has been showcased in the more than 40 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
