Nancy Nickell Ragno Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    WHITE PINE, TN, December 27, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Nancy Nickell Ragno with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Ragno celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Ragno earned a Bachelor of Arts from Lebanon Valley College in 1960, following this accomplishment with a Master of Arts from New York University in 1968. Interested in writing from a young age, she got her initial start writing materials for her elementary and high school classes at New Jersey Public Schools, where she taught from 1961 to 1968, and she ultimately decided to pursue professional editing and writing at the advice of one of her pupils. Focused on her professional endeavors, Ms. Ragno became a project editor for Prentice-Hall, Inc., and Harcourt Brace Jovanovich before working as a senior editor at Silver Burdett Company. As her career advanced, she became an editor and writer for Houghton Mifflin Company and a senior editor for both J.B. Lippincott Company and Silver Burdett Ginn, where she continues to work today. She has also served as an author and writer for Publishing Solutions, where she has worked since 2004.

After working as an editor for several years, Ms. Ragno developed an interest in freelance writing and made the decision to become a ghost writer for children's educational literature. Her English series geared towards elementary schools, "Silver Burdett English," was met with considerable success, and her other written works are copious. Along with textbook series that include "World Language," "Use the Right Word" and "Twenty One Days to a New Habit," she has also worked on sound filmstrips for projects such as "The City and the Modern Writer." Along with her work in professional writing, Ms. Ragno has worked for the YMCA and has been a teacher for her local community college.

Due to her ongoing interest in her field, Ms. Ragno maintains memberships with the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the Textbook and Academic Authors Association, the Authors Guild and the Alliance of Independent Authors. She also continues involvement with such associations as the National Council of Teachers of English, the International Literacy Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Her interests also extend to community involvement, and she has done significant volunteer work with local orchestras.
